Dr. Jagla’s Golfers Ginseng Elixir 50 ml. Herbal liqueur with ginseng root, 35% vol – the Berlin apothecary bottle in mini format.

Dr. Jagla’s Golfers Ginseng Elixir is a herbal liqueur from Berlin: ginseng root with ginger, gentian, cinchona bark, cardamom, and a hint of saffron, 35% vol, 50 ml in a mini bottle. Not a liqueur, not golf equipment, not a bulk pack – a digestive for two glasses to get to know it.

Golfers Ginseng Elixir by Dr. Jagla is also available in small: Sunday evening, dinner is over, and someone pulls a little bottle out of their jacket pocket. Two glasses are enough to know if the ginseng bitter is for you – tart from the root, warm from ginger, smooth in the finish. The manufacturer calls this mini a gift, and not just for golfers. It is the same formulation as the large bottle, just in a format for the first sip.

Tart from the ginseng root, warm from ginger and cinnamon

The herbal liqueur is full-bodied and elegant, with the root as the foundation. Ginseng has a characteristically tart taste; Dr. Jagla compares the note to licorice and the scent of the forest. Gentian, cinchona bark, and centaury provide the bitterness; ginger, cardamom, and cinnamon provide the warmth. The color and aromas are natural, according to the manufacturer. If you prefer it more edgy, try the Artichoke Elixir in the mini – the stricter variety of the house.

Two centiliters neat, on ice, or as a small highball

The mini bottle is enough for a good two glasses of 2 cl each. At room temperature, the bitter shows the root more clearly; on ice, it becomes rounder. For the manufacturer's Ginseng Highball, pour 20 ml of elixir over ice and fill with ginger beer or ginger ale. A mini thus becomes two long drinks. It is a spirit with 35% vol and for ages 18 and up. Salted almonds, a piece of mountain cheese, or dark chocolate go well with it.

Our tip: Place two glasses next to each other, one neat and one on ice – that way you can find out in one evening which variant suits you best.

The same formulation as in the large bottle

Dr. Jagla is a Berlin-based manufacturer at Choriner Straße 40, originating from a family of pharmacists who have been using monastery recipes and herbal medicine for decades. The recipe dates back to a monastery pharmacy recipe from the 15th century, and individual production steps follow the Pharmacopoea Germanica, the old German Pharmacopoeia. It is prepared by hand in small quantities, then left to mature for several months. If you like the mini, the step to the shelf is small: The Golfers Ginseng Elixir in 500 ml is ready in the apothecary bottle.

Trial bottle, souvenir, and companion for on the go

The mini fits in a jacket pocket and toiletry bag. It is the gift for the golfer among your friends, the addition to a birthday package, and the companion for the journey – a little bottle that takes up no space and tells a great story. For comparison, the Maca Ginseng Elixir is available as a mini; all elixirs are on our Dr. Jagla page. The mini is not suitable for those looking for a supply for several evenings – 50 ml is two glasses.

Golfers Ginseng Elixir as a herbal liqueur in the 50 ml mini bottle – for tasting, gifting, and taking with you.

Dr. Jaglas
