Dr. Jaglas Dry GIN-seng 50 ml. Dry Gin with juniper and ginseng root, 50% ABV, sugar-free – the apothecary gin in a mini format.

Dr. Jaglas Dry GIN-seng is a handmade dry gin from Berlin: fresh juniper berries and ginseng root with gentian, bitter orange, ginger, and cardamom, 50% ABV, 50 ml in a mini bottle. No sugar, no liqueur, no citrus gin – a juniper spirit that stands on its own.

Dry GIN-seng by Dr. Jaglas is the gin that originated from a bitter, and in 50 ml, it is a test field that doesn't take up much space. Friday evening, the tonic is cold. You want to know if juniper with earthy root is your gin: 3 cl in tonic, 2 cl neat on the side, done. The distillery describes the mini as a special gift for all gin lovers and the gin as the distilled form of their ginseng elixir.

Juniper up front, earthy ginseng behind, dry to the finish

First comes the juniper, fresh and resinous, then the ginseng root, earthy and tart. The bright berry and dark root are opposites that complement each other here. Gentian, centaury, ginger, cinnamon, clove, saffron, and lavender work in the background. Because the distillery uses absolutely no sugar, the gin remains dry. If you prefer the root as a smooth bitter, try the Golfer's Ginseng Elixir as a mini.

Neat in a small glass, in tonic, and in a Negroni

Neat at room temperature, 2 cl in a small glass, the gin shows its best. In a Gin & Tonic, 3 cl over plenty of ice and tonic is enough, served with a lemon zest. For a Dr. Jaglas Negroni, mix one part each of GIN-seng, artichoke elixir, and red vermouth – with 2 cl of each, it can be made almost entirely from the mini. It is a spirit with 50% ABV and for ages 18 and up; the distillery recommends enjoying it mindfully and in small quantities.

Our tip: Express the orange zest over the Negroni before dropping it into the glass – the oil from the peel brings the bitter orange to the forefront.

Inspired by the 1872 juniper recipe

Dr. Jaglas is a Berlin-based distillery located at Choriner Straße 40, originating from a family of pharmacists who have been using monastery recipes and herbal knowledge for decades. The gin is based on the recipe for Spiritus Juniperi from the German Pharmacopoeia of 1872, combined with the herbal blend of the ginseng elixir. According to the distillery, the origin, purity, and content of the herbs are precisely defined. If you like the mini, the full-size bottle is ready: Dry GIN-seng in 500 ml, a gin for many evenings.

A gift for gin collectors, a sample for the home bar

The mini is the perfect little gift for anyone who already has many gins on their shelf. Earthy, rooted, and dry, it tastes different from the citrus and floral gins of recent years. And as a small bottle, it fits right into your travel bag. All bottles from this producer are on our Dr. Jaglas page. This gin is not suitable for those looking for a soft, sweet summer gin – it is bold, dry, and a gin for small glasses.

Dry GIN-seng as a dry gin with juniper and ginseng root in a 50 ml mini bottle – to sample, to gift, and to take with you.

Dr. Jaglas
