The basic structure of citrus and juniper is preserved: Gin de Cologne includes peels of lemons, oranges, and limes, lavender and hibiscus blossoms, and juniper. Usage: Rosé Gin Tonic with berry garnish

The manufacturer's recipe for the summer drink: 4 cl Rosé, 16 cl Mediterranean tonic water, berry garnish, and three ice cubes. The 100 ml bottle is enough for two such drinks and leaves 2 cl over, which you can try chilled and neat. If you are giving the box as a gift, it is best to include a few berries, a tonic, and a card with the recipe.

For a variation with sparkling wine, mix 4 cl Rosé with 10 cl dry sparkling wine and a raspberry. This works well as an aperitif for two and is quicker to prepare than a gin and tonic with garnish. A Rosé Lemonade also works well: shake 4 cl gin, 2 cl lemon juice, and 1 cl sugar syrup and top up with soda water. Alcohol is only for adults 18 and over, and so this box belongs in the hands of adults.

Our tip: Chill the gin and tonic before mixing. Then you need less ice, and the drink stays cool and fresh until the very last sip.

The gin comes from Cologne Spirits GmbH in Cologne (Bonner Straße 205), which Abbass Khatami founded in 2017. He comes from a background in beverage brand advertising and has built his own brand with Gin de Cologne. It is handcrafted in Cologne-Ehrenfeld.

The brand also developed the small 100 ml bottles as a Cologne souvenir. With the gift box, it becomes a present that you can simply hand over without having to wrap it first.
