Wajos Tonic Syrup - Tasting Pack. Six Tonic syrups in small bottles, from Botanical to Pink Grapefruit – the pack that helps you discover which tonic suits your gin.

Wajos Tonic Syrup - Tasting Pack contains six tonic syrups with a total of 240 ml: Botanical, Basil-Rosemary-Thyme, Rhubarb-Apple-Thyme, Peach-Elderflower-Lemon, Pink Grapefruit-Ginger and Orange-Bitter-Herbs. All based on sugar, citric acid, natural flavors and quinine flavoring, to be mixed with sparkling water. No tonic water, no gin, no large bottles, but six small ones to try. Vegan.

The Tonic Syrup Tasting Pack by Wajos solves the problem everyone has when buying tonic syrup for the first time: Which flavor? Grapefruit sounds good, but will it suit the gin in the cupboard? Or would rhubarb be more exciting? This saves you the decision. Six flavors in small 40-milliliter bottles, so about two glasses of each, and in the end you'll know which large bottle to buy. For us, this pack is above all one thing: the gift for gin drinkers who already have everything.

Six directions: herbal, fruity, bitter – and all with quinine

Botanical is the classic flavor with juniper and lemongrass, dry and close to gin. Basil, rosemary and thyme taste like a herb garden, rhubarb-apple-thyme like summer with a slight tartness. Peach-elderflower-lemon is the soft, floral flavor, pink grapefruit-ginger the fruity-tart with warmth, and orange-bitter-herbs with gentian the bitterest. All six are syrups, so they are sweet – sugar is listed first, and the nutritional information states 63 grams of sugar per 100 milliliters. For anyone expecting a sugar-free tonic, this pack is not suitable. And if you only want to drink one flavor, you are better served by a large bottle like the Rhubarb, Apple & Thyme Tonic Syrup.

One part syrup, eight parts sparkling water – then add gin or make lemonade

The rule applies to all six: one part syrup to eight parts sparkling water, plenty of ice. So 2 cl of syrup in a glass, top up with 160 ml of sparkling water, and stir. For a gin and tonic, add 4 cl of gin – Botanical with a classic dry gin, peach or rhubarb with a fruity summer gin, pink grapefruit with everything. Without alcohol, they make six lemonades, and a splash of syrup in sparkling wine makes an aperitif. It is best to try all six side by side with the same gin one evening – that way you will find your flavor. The syrups are not suitable neat or as a sweetener for tea: too bitter, too sweet.

Our tip: Six small glasses, one gin, pour all the flavors in and let the round vote – the tonic evening that turned two large bottles out of a tasting pack for us.

Syrups from the house that started with liqueurs

The syrups come from Wajos, a gourmet manufactory in Dohr near Cochem on the Mosel. The name is an abbreviation for Walter Josef Oster, who began making liqueurs in the 1980s alongside his family's winery in Ediger-Eller. His son Peter Oster and Ulf Schwichtenberg turned it into a brand with gins, rums and syrups – today with over 80 employees and its own laboratory that tests every product.

The pack for beginners, for gin gifts and for summer evenings

The tasting pack is the box for everyone who is just getting to know tonic syrup and would rather try it than blindly buy one flavor. As a gift, it suits a gin like the Christmas Gin or on its own for someone who already owns three gins and would turn down a fourth. All the syrups and gins are available on our Wajos page. Store in a cool, dark place, and put opened bottles in the refrigerator. The pack is not suitable for anyone who needs a lot of one flavor – 240 milliliters spread across six bottles are intended for trying rather than for a party.

Six tonic syrups in small bottles, from Botanical to Grapefruit – the pack from the Mosel, after which you will know which tonic your gin needs.

Wajos Logo

Wajos

Was Wajos anders macht
