Wajos Lemon³ Vodka. Flavored vodka with lemon, 40 percent – the vodka that brings the lemon with it, for Vodka Lemon, Lemon Drop, and sparkling water.
Wajos Lemon³ Vodka is a lemon-flavored vodka with 40 percent alcohol, 500 ml, from Dohr on the Moselle. Not a lemon liqueur, not a limoncello, not a neutral vodka for the freezer, but a vodka where the lemon takes center stage and the drink with sparkling water is already almost finished. For ages 18 and up.
Lemon³ Vodka from Wajos is the answer to a move that happens the same way in every bar: vodka in the glass, lemon added. In a classic vodka, the lemon provides the flavor, the vodka only the alcohol. Here, it is the other way around: the vodka itself tastes like lemon, and the slice in the glass becomes a decoration. The superscript three in the name promises triple the lemon – the bottle leaves it open which three notes Wajos means; we read the name as a promise that the lemon flavor is distinct. For Vodka Lemon, Lemon Drop, and a long drink with sparkling water, this is half the work done.
Lemon up front, vodka behind, 40 percent and clear
The vodka smells and tastes of lemon. At 40 percent, it is as strong as a classic vodka, but the lemon removes the harshness that a neutral vodka has when enjoyed neat, and it finishes with a citrus freshness. Honestly: Wajos withholds the ingredient list and sugar information for this vodka – a flavored vodka may be sweetened, and whether or how much remains open. It is not suitable for those looking for a pure, unflavored vodka; those who prefer gin with citrus will find an alternative in our Summer Gin.
With sparkling water, as a Vodka Lemon, in a Lemon Drop, and ice-cold neat
The simplest drink: 4 centiliters of vodka, ice, sparkling water, done – a lemonade-free long drink where the lemon comes from the vodka. With bitter lemon or lemonade, it becomes a Vodka Lemon that tastes twice as much of lemon. The Lemon Drop requires 5 centiliters of vodka, 2 centiliters of lemon juice, 1 centiliter of sugar syrup, shaken over ice, with a sugar rim on the glass. Served ice-cold straight from the freezer, it is a shot after a meal that stays smooth. It is not suitable for cocktails where the vodka should remain neutral – Bloody Mary, White Russian – the lemon always has its say.
Our tip: 4 centiliters of Lemon³ Vodka, 2 centiliters of Pink Grapefruit Tonic Syrup, ice, sparkling water – a long drink between lemon and grapefruit that we prefer to gin and tonic on hot evenings.
A vodka from the house that began with liqueur on the Moselle
Wajos in Dohr near Cochem on the Moselle has its roots in spirits: Walter Josef Oster, from a family of vintners in Ediger-Eller with 15 generations of winemaking history, opened a liqueur manufactory next to the winery in the 1980s. From the 2000s onwards, Peter Oster and Ulf Schwichtenberg turned it into a brand with over 80 employees, their own stores, and a laboratory that tests around 900 items – gin, rum, liqueur, and, indeed, vodka.
The vodka for long drink evenings and for everyone who finds gin has too much juniper
Lemon³ Vodka is the bottle for people who like long drinks and avoid gin, and for summer evenings when a glass with ice and sparkling water is enough. As a gift, it is perfect for anyone who orders a Vodka Lemon at parties; those who like it darker will find the Absacker herbal liqueur for the finish, and all spirits can be found on our Wajos page. Store in a dry place, away from light; place in the freezer for shots. This vodka is not suitable for anyone under 18 or for those who think of purity rather than flavor when they hear the word vodka.
